Albirr Foundation is a charitable organisation established to enhance the awareness of the Holy Quran in the people by cultivating learning, understanding, reciting and memorising the Holy Quran, especially among children in the United Kingdom.
To this end, Albirr Foundation annually organises Quran competition at various levels, in the United Kingdom, thus encouraging and rewarding the efforts of the young participants and learners of the Holy Book.
Albirr Foundation also makes the Quran freely available to anyone who wishes to read, understand and reflect upon it, and have a more enlightened appreciation of Islam and its Holy Book.
All of this is aimed at bringing together education and spirituality amongst people.
The Foundation thus believes its work is fittingly summed up based on the words from the Quran itself:
Help you one another in al-birr and at-taqwa (righteousness and piety). Q 5:2
Albirr Foundation UK hosts an annual competition in the Hifz of the Quran in order to encourage memorisation of the Holy Quran amongst young Muslims living in the United Kingdom. The competition opens for registration in January and closes in May. Applicants apply through the website and if they fulfil the entry requirements, they are invited for an interview. Winners of the competition are rewarded with generous cash prizes and certificates of achievement presented in the prize giving ceremony which immediately follows the competition.
